Hi, this is Deniz. I was born in 1982 in Turkey. Since I begun to use my familiy's SLR camera in 1998, photography has been my passion.

In 2000, I joined the photography club (DEFOT) of Dokuz Eylul University which helped me learn basic techniques and create better compositions. Following that, I worked in Marmaris (Turkey) as a photographer in touristic daily boat tours in 2002 and 2003 for the summer holiday while I was still studying for my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. This was the beginning of my professional photography journey. I photographed hundreds of people. After graduation, working full time in retail business in managerial roles let me only take photos as a leisure activity.

In 2013, my husband and I decided to move to beautiful New Zealand to raise a family, and we had our precious baby in 2015. Since then, I have been re-engaged with photography by taking the very special moments of my son and my friend's little ones. It has been six years now I have been improving myself in newborn, maternity and family photography.

Moving forward, I took my passion to the next level by launching my photography business as "Happy Moments by Deniz" in November 2018 in New Zealand.
​
In August 2019, we moved to our new country, the Netherlands. I have launched my photography business again here in Utrecht in November 2019. (KVK No: 76313077)
After working many years in corporate life, it is pretty clear that nothing excites me more than photography and I am looking forward to meeting you and capturing your happy moments.

My style
I like looking at the world through the viewfinder of my camera and love being part of the unique and precious moments of people. These are the moments, I lose the sense of time, energetically interact with people and passionately seek for the perfect combination of light, emotion and pose. It is a great pleasure to be part of their own stories and capture their timeless memories.

I describe myself as a family photographer. The most important outcome for me after a session is to reveal the endless love between mom and her baby, pure beauty and innocence in the pose of a newborn, energy of life and hope in a toddler's eyes through a photo.
​
I have a little studio at Houten where is only 6-7 km away from Utrecht. Besides studio shoots, I do offer outdoor sessions.
